PRESS RELEASE
Fan Huaxiao's artistic practice is deeply rooted in the traditions of 17th-century Dutch still life painting. Within a framework blending symbolism and surrealism, he employs visual allegory to explore the essence of existence, creating deeply poetic and philosophical tableaux. His work evokes Damien Hirst's skulls and specimen displays, Kathleen Ryan's jewel-encrusted decaying fruit, and the imaginative realms of Magritte and Dalí. In his compositions, we witness the interweaving of microscopic organisms and the vast cosmos, where the fervor of life engages in a silent dialogue with the tranquility of death.

Fan Huaxiao's works construct one exquisitely crafted allegory after another. He invites us to pause, to bend down and observe the dust beneath our feet, and to find reflected within it our own existence—our loves, our burdens, our fears, and that vitality of ours, as ephemeral as a mayfly in the cosmic scale, yet as enduring as a rock. In this sense, his art is a continuous and solemn celebration of life.
