“风车历险是堂吉诃德最著名的失败之一。堂吉诃德在穿越平原历险的路上发现四周竖立着许多风车,由于沉迷于骑士小说,认定这些是“不法的巨人”。随行的侍从坚持说那些是风车,但他仍然不加理会,手持长矛,策马向前冲去准备与风车殊死搏斗。一阵疾风吹动风车翼,把这位骑士连同他的马一起抡倒在地。”
罗京的作品以一种简单而完整的构图,聊以自娱,好似蛮不在乎,但是却以饱有理想的语言诠释出来。仿佛用一种拙朴的叙事,讲述自成体系的道理。“我”以何种的目光去判断,抑或追逐着怎样的理想,现实与幻象所产生的不平衡性 ,使看似有意义的目的通过自我调侃而得以内化,这种堂吉诃德式的历险,一直充斥其中。
作品中轻重缓急有着自己的平衡感,非讨好式的画面以冷静的方式制造一种过分理想主义的粗暴行为。用超现实的幽默描绘某种僵硬的造型,隐喻的趣味以平衡某个寻常捕捉的概念,选择性地保留作品中的神秘感。
直觉引领线索,以一种倒推的创作逻辑,允许画面之间自然生成某种联系和暗号,再由作品赋予对于这种暗号的接纳和连贯。 呼应历险情节的不确定性,但饱有自己随性和自嘲的情绪。
巨人被圣光所围绕, 无非是个人所选择看到的现实与幻像;彩色的格子,是为了隐蔽粗糙的动机匆忙发生;苹果作为反复出现的线索,承担情节中的暗号,即是沉重如铅地神圣,也是任由对其渴望的摆布,最终归为感受者和讲述者的自我知觉。
这一系列的作品触发于某些经历上的种种状态,情绪,可观和不客观的视野,给予观者最大余地的想象。
Luo Jing's works employs a simple but complete composition, like a private thought interpreted through an idealistic language. It seems to use a clumsy narrative to express the truth of its own perspective. “What kind of eyes I shall use to judge, or what kind of ideal I am chasing.”- the contrast between reality and illusion makes the seemingly meaningful purpose become internalized through self-ridicule. The concept of Don Quixote’s adventure has always been part of this series of work.
The priorities in the work have their own sense of balance, and the non-flattering images expresses a brutal behavior of excessive idealism in a calm but incisive way. Surreal humor is used to describe a certain rigid shape, amusing metaphors balance ordinary concepts, and a sense of mystery is selectively retained in the work.
Intuition provides the clues, and a certain connection and a special code is naturally generated between the pictures with reverse creative logic; the work then endows this code with acceptance and coherence. The narrative of the adventure echoes with uncertainty, and is full of its own casual and self-deprecating emotions.
The giant is surrounded by the “holy light”, which in reality is just an illusion that individuals choose to see; the colorful grid hides the rough motives which happen in a hurry; the apple, as a recurring thread, indicates the direction of the plot, sometimes solid as lead but suddenly can change at the mercy of its desires, and is ultimately relegated to the perception of the listener and the narrator.
This series of works is inspired by various states and emotions found in certain experiences, and has a considered and subjective vision, giving viewers the greatest room to use their imagination.

Luo Jing, born in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia in 1992, currently works and lives in Yanjiao, Hebei. In 2018, he graduated from the First Studio of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor's degree.
